Health, Safety and Environment Policy

These stages include:

- Pre-feasibility and feasibility phases
- Technical support for Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Management Program (EMPR)

Construction audits

- Handover and performance test
- Ensure that equipment perform to design specifications during commissioning and performance test, when the plant is producing at full capacity

Detail design focuses on:

- Use of CO rich gas from furnace operation as a fuel, instead of:

  • Burning excess furnace gas to atmosphere, or
  • Using alternative fuels which deplete natural resources.

- Using proven imported technologies for dust extraction and gas cleaning,
- Recycling scrubber slurries through effluent treatment plants and belt filters back into process,
- Recycling all water,
- Optimising water make-up possible due to dry cooling,
- Recycling existing baghouse dust dumps to the smelting process,
- Pre-treat ores to improved energy efficiency, and increase alloy recovery in the down-stream smelting process.
